Moth Release
David Dennis and Peter Bygate will hold another moth release at the Full Moon on 6th, 13th or 14th June. The date will be confirmed on ‘Newgrapevine’ as it is dependent upon weather. Always facinating for all ages, do go along.

Hawridge and Cholesbury Commons Preservation Society hosts an annual Village Picnic, Wildflower Walks, Butterfly and Moth Safaris and many other great events throughout the year.

42 hectares of common land in the midst of the Chiltern AONB (area of outstanding natural beauty)
Hawridge and Cholesbury Commons cover 42 hectares of privately owned common land and is designated as a Local Wildlife Site.
The owner and Hawridge and Cholesbury Preservation Society manage the Commons for the benefit of the local community and visitors whilst maintaining a healthy habitat for the local flora, fauna and wild life. Areas of acidic soil support heather communities and the Preservation Society is working on increasing the heather coverage. There are two ponds and the Commons are notable for fungi and apple trees.
The Commons are enjoyed by walkers and horse riders alike. Whilst the local cricket club and pitch situated at the north west end provides a focal point on many a summers day.
